Energy [ˈɛnɚdʒɪ] is more than electrons, kilowatthours or a force applied through a certain distance. It is one of the driving forces for the development of our society; it is a key foundation of our life, our economy and our continuous striving for progress.

However, every light has its shadow; i.e. the climate emergency we are facing is predominantly the result of an excessive use of fossil energy sources such as oil, coal but also natural gas. Therefore, without any doubt, fighting climate change is THE project of this century and the energy sector will play a key role therein.
In particular, a fundamentally reshaped energy sector, which embraces the changes required at the core of its traditional business models — from fossil to renewable, from analogous to digital, from top-down to bottom-up — and manages to renew its value chain through new forms of cooperations has the potential to become the major “game changer” that enables the transformation to a more sustainable economy and way of living based on innovation and smart solutions instead of sacrifice and limitation.

Disconnecting from change does not recapture the past. It loses the future.
